| Education:
Undergrad Harvard University 1989 with a concentration in Mechanical
Engineering. MMM Kellogg 1995.
Work prior to MMM:
Prior To Kellogg, I worked at Ford Motor company managing an $85
million automotive supply base. In that role, I determined Ford's
strategic sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts and pricing,
and managed the day-to-day purchasing, quality control, new product
development, and supply chain activities for Ford and a set of
Tier 1 automotive suppliers. Although it was an exciting and rewarding
role, I wanted to go back to school and get my MBA to round-out
my managerial experience in marketing, finance, and strategy and
while preserving my focus on operations and manufacturing.
Position after MMM:
After graduating from Kellogg in 1995, I went on to a successful
seven year management consulting career at Booz Allen Hamiltion,
where I was able to combine the strategy and general management
skills I leanned at Kellogg with the operations-focus of MMM.
While at Booz Allen, I've lead a variety of business
turn-around projects where I've refocused organizations on their
core markets, built new supply chain and IT capabilities, integrated
major acquisitions, and developed new market, manufacturing, and
supply chain strategies. During this time, I have also built new
sales force and marketing organizations and led the implementation
of lean manufacturing production and invenntory management methodologies.
Why I chose MMM:
Kellogg's MBA/MMM program offerred everything I was looking for:
a first-class business school environment, an operations-oriented
curriculum that built on my supply chain background, and an unbeatable
combination of teachers, students, and post-graduation job opportunities.
My time at Kellogg was some of the best and most rewarding experiences
of my life.
Kellogg allowed me to make the most of my prior
business experience and augment it with the skills I needed in
consulting and general management. Kellogg's flexibility allowed
me to tailor an education program that fit my interests, its student
body and teaching staff allowed me to stretch my thinking and
build lasting friendships, and its reputation has paid dividends
for years after graduation. It is a great program that I highly
recommend to all.
